Finance client

Technology Infrastructure Modernization

overview

As a UX Designer, I was brought on to help the client modernize their technology infrastructure to enhance security, optimize tools, streamline operations, and improve scalability. After reaching key milestones, the client transitioned the project to their internal team, with a go-live date planned for 2025.

I collaborated with three department teams, working with stakeholders, end users, and subject matter experts to update key areas of their member platform. Additionally, I worked with UX/UI designers, developers, and engineers on the Core Principal and Design Systems team to ensure a cohesive user experience, aligning design principles with technical execution.

design/tool stack

at a glance

  • Financial Clearing Organization

  • A modernized member platform designed to streamline operations, elevate risk management capabilities, and implement a more robust data management system, delivering improved services to members and market participants.

  • June 2022 - September 2023

  • UX Designer for three separate pillar teams, the Core Principle team, and the Design System team

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting usability studies, digital wireframing, high-fidelity prototyping, accounting for accessibility and compliance regulations, iterating on designs, design system creation and management

wireframe example

  • Navigation was designed to be a top navigation bar for users to easily navigate throughout their pillar

  • The search query at the top of the page was a common feature throughout the platform. This allowed members and stakeholders to filter results to efficiently search through large amounts of data.

  • Tables were an extremely common feature throughout the platform. This table was designed to show, hide, sort and interact with the data to the member’s and stakeholders liking.

Design system

As a member of the Design Systems Team, my responsibilities included…

  • Design and maintain scalable design systems to ensure consistency across the platform

  • Create comprehensive guidelines and best practices for developers using the design system

  • Integrate accessibility standards into design system components to ensure compliance with WCAG guidelines

the challenge

The end goal was modernizing a Financial Clearing Platform to address the complexity of its existing workflows and legacy system constraints while meeting the diverse needs of its users. The challenge included ensuring compliance with strict regulatory requirements, integrating modern technologies without disrupting ongoing operations, and maintaining user trust through clear and secure interactions.

the solution

By collaborating within an Agile methodology, I created intuitive, user-centered solutions for complex workflows. I collaborated closely with diverse stakeholders, including market participants and internal teams, to understand their unique needs while addressing legacy system constraints. My focus was on simplifying intricate processes, ensuring accessibility across devices, and fostering trust through clear, secure interactions. By aligning with regulatory requirements and integrating modern technologies seamlessly, I helped deliver a streamlined, scalable platform that elevated the user experience without disrupting existing operations.

the results

This project is scheduled to go live later in 2025. This new modernized platform will optimize operations, strengthen risk management capabilities, and implement a robust data management system to better support members and market participants.
